A.W.N. Pugin. A rare Gothic Revival carved oak library or serving table with floor level display shelf. Probably made by J C Crace. Pugin used a number of recurring motifs, on furniture in the House of Lords, the Royal apartments, and in the House of Commons. Among those are the Tudor rose, a five-petal combination of the white rose of York and the red rose of Lancaster including the Queen's monogram, "VR" for ''Victoria Regina'' which is carved each side of a ''T'' entwined with clover style leaves within a blind Quatrafoil. The carved floral extensions to the upper legs are seen in his earlier work as too are the arched details and through tenons.
