Puritan Values Ltd was the largest supplier to Liberty and Co of original Art Furniture and smaller decorative items from the Arts and Crafts Movement, Gothic Revival and British Art Nouveau over a 15 year period, also supplying the better items for their annual selling exhibitions and an Aesthetic Movement Exhibition.

SOLD L&Co 14
A rare Arts and Crafts oak armchair attributed to E.Punnet made by William Birch with Mother of Pearl and Ebony stylised floral inlay. A good design well balanced and encompasses the true Glasgow Style. An identicle version is illustrated in 'The Birch Design Ledger, illustration number and there is another example in the collection at The Glasgow School of Art (GSA).

A rare Liberty and Co Arts and Crafts oak sideboard designed by Leonard Wyburd. A hand formed copper motto to the top which reads :- 'READ NOT TO BELIEVE and TAKE FOR GRANTED BUT TO WEIGH and CONSIDER'. Stylised metalwork to the lower left hand door and stylised leaded glass to the upper right hand door with pierced arches to the upper central section.

SOLD L&Co 17
A rare Liberty and Co bureau bookcase of outstanding quality made from 1/4 sawn oak with wonderful figuring. Applied with highly accomplished copper work. A superior design from The Arts and Crafts Movement.
The motto is by Alexander Pope and reads :-
WORDS ARE LIKE LEAVES AND WHERE THEY ABOUND MUCH FRUIT OF SENSE BENEATH IS RARELY FOUND.

A good quality 1\4 sawn oak Arts and Crafts sideboard designed by Leonard Wyburd for Liberty and Co, with protruding cornice with a grove to the top shelf for displaying plates, stylised carved motto below that reads :- 'LET GOOD DIGESTION WAIT ON APPETITE', this verse is from the Shakespear play Macbeth. Angled sides and panelled back, work area with drawer below and cupboard with hand forged iron handle's and hinges .

SOLD L&Co 23
A rare Liberty and Co Arts and Crafts armchair designed by Leonard Wyburd. Although in essence it is more like the Ethelbert it has arms the same as the Athelstan chair a variation combining elements of the two. There is an image of the two chairs together on page 114 of 'Liberty Design' by Barbara Morris in an advert taken from the Yuletide Catalogue of 1899.

An Arts and Crafts oak Bureau Bookcase with exceptional leaded glass doors with extruding glass poppies to centre,quite an early example of moulded Art Nouveau glass a technique quite rare in this country at the time.It has a fall down flap above a drawer and bookshelf below. The last three images show the same three dimensional floret which was made possible by advances in glass making technologies at the turn of the century.
