An rare Liberty and Co Arts and Crafts oak bureau with fantastic hand made copper hinges to the drop down front which opens to reveal writing area and pigeon holes flanked by a drawer to each side, the back with bookshelves enclosed by turned spindles united by a circular disc with moorish shaped details to the top of the splayed and turned legs united by twin stretchers all round and stood on ball feet.
Height 47", Depth 13 1/2", Width 24", Feet are Width 26 1/2" apart and Depth 19 1/2" apart. Circa 1895.

A fine Liberty and Co Bureau bookcase. The metalwork is hand hammered copper of the highest quality. Original ivorene label inside the drawer.
The motto is by Alexander Pope and reads :-
WORDS ARE LIKE LEAVES AND WHERE THEY ABOUND MUCH FRUIT OF SENSE BENEATH IS RARELY FOUND.
Height 5' 7", Width 44" and Depth 14". Circa 1890.
