A well designed Gothic Revival Walnut sidetable attributed to Collier and Plunkett with carved 45 degree details to the under side of the top and very precise scroll carved details to the protruding table top supports, the 4 legs which from the tops have square then turned detail, then ball, then turned detail with twin scribed line details with carved dot details to the centre's, then ball detail and then turned detail below and octagonal details which also unite the lower shelf and then below conforming lower leg details mirror'd to the top legs with 3 scribed line details and further 3 scribed line scribe details to the ball feet.

A rare sidetable designed by Phillip Webb and made by Morris and Co with a shaped and moulded top with six turned legs all united by subtle turned upper side stretchers and lower radiating stretchers with wavy shaped bottoms precisely joined at the centre. The underneath of the table top is as beautifully made as the rest of the table with a complicated array of flat supports for the legs which also hold the top firmly together stopping any shrinkage or joint separation and the ends of these are finished with precise chamfered edges. A beautifully made table with wonderful proportions, an early design classic of museum quality showing the true beginnings of the Arts and Crafts Movement.

A Gothic Revival side table attributed to John Henry Chamberlain and made by Pluknett and Steevens who later became Collier and Pluknett. I have had them before with Collier and Pluknett labels. Collier and Pluknett were high end furntiure makers who had premises in Warick. They produced many exhibition pieces always of a superior quality. Coincidently the young Ambrose Heal served his apprenticeship with them from 1890 to 1893 just before he started designing for Heals.
